I want to extend my sincerest welcome to you and your family. I greet this ‘2009-2010’ school year with a lot of enthusiasm as we begin our journey together at Barack Obama Charter School (BOCS). We are excited and proud to share with you the outstanding aspects of the Re-Inventing Schools learning reform movementPlease know that we are all committed to building educational excellence for the students in your community. BOCS is introducing a new curriculum (the Re-Inventing Schools Model), taught by a dedicated and knowledgeable staff, and we are actively forging a school-community partnership. In addition to our innovative standard-based curriculum, the Barack Obama Charter School campus will offer newly renovated facilities, including a computer lab and updated play area, to ensure best practices for your child’s safety.
I can pledge to you a collaborative, cooperative and open communication between school and home. We encourage and invite your involvement in our efforts to make Barack Obama Charter School one of the finest elementary schools in the Compton and Los Angeles areas.
