Enrollment Outreach Efforts
Barack Obama Charter School is proud to serve all students in our community. Our community primarily serves African American and Hispanic families. We work collaboratively with three different Headstart programs that serve all students in their surrounding communities. During our enrollment presentations, a translator is always available for Spanish-speaking families. For families that need assistance with the enrollment forms, we have a parent volunteer who will help them complete all documents.
All of our parent post newsletters and enrollment applications are in both English and Spanish to ensure equal access for our Spanish speaking families. Our recruitment teams for all Prop 39 and student recruitment efforts are able to communicate in English and Spanish. BOCS has advertised frequently in local newspapers with ads targeted to the Spanish-speaking community. The Barack Obama Charter School website is easily viewable in Spanish by clicking a prominent button on the home page, and the school parent newsletter is published in both English and Spanish and posted on the website
