Charter schools, like all public schools in California, receive funds from the State of California based on average daily attendance. The formula currently being used by the state to fund schools does not cover all of our needs for expenses, including salaries, facilities, and supplies. Through grants, parent fund-raising efforts and donations, we are able to fill in the gaps so that we can build and expand vital programs for our students. Barack Obama Charter School believes in a well-rounded curriculum, and we fund-raise to support programs such as PE, cultural enrichment, and building our library and computer lab. We will fulfill our fund-raising needs in a variety of ways. We will offer events for community participation to support our school. These events are being planned now. For those who would like to assist with these events, please contact the school office by phone or emailOur parents and the community can also help by taking part in our in-school fund-raising. BOCS parents and staff lead a variety of fundraising efforts for the school that parents, families, and other supporters can join in on. Additional information can be found in our Parent Bulletins that are distributed every two weeks, and on this website's Bulletin Board. Everyone can help by donating items on our wish list. All donations to Barack Obama Charter School are tax-deductible through our non-profit charter management organization, Ingenium Schools. For your records, our tax ID# is 11-3794105. Thanks to all who support the mission of Barack Obama Charter School! |
